One Step at a Time
April 5th, 2021
When I began my second year of Independent Study & Mentorship, it seemed intimidating at first as I slightly overwhelmed myself with the numerous tasks, the content I had to learn, and the connections I had to make. However, by taking it one step at a time and breaking down large tasks into small to-do items with realistic timelines, I was able to increase my productivity while achieving my ISM goals. Now that I am nearing the end of this amazing path as the Final Product is nearly due, I have realized how far I have come regarding penning an entire research paper over a topic I had close to no knowledge on 8 months ago.
Since I have understood the importance of taking tasks one step at a time while I continue to aspire to reach new goals, I have progressed to also develop professional skills by applying my learnings practically – through investing. I have been proactive in taking the next step to develop advantageous habits in college by setting up a meeting with Mr. Meek to learn about the fundamentals of value investing and day trading. By doing so while ensuring that I have completed my Final Product, I will set myself up for success in the future by making my money work for me.
